Your TradingView alert fires, your automation tool sends the order, and instead of a fill you get a JSON blob with an errorCode field that isn’t 0. That’s the whole problem with ProjectX errors: the API tells you exactly what went wrong, but the message is buried in a field most traders never look at.
Update (October 2026): Since 28 February 2026, ProjectX is available only through Topstep as TopstepX. Other prop firms that previously used ProjectX have moved to different platforms, most commonly Tradovate or Rithmic. The guide below may be outdated for non-Topstep firms. Still searching for a way to connect Bulenox to ProjectX? That door closed months
Ask three AquaFunded traders what the rules like drawdown limit is and you can get three correct answers. One’s on Instant Funding Standard with a single 3% trailing cap. Another’s on 2-Step Pro with a 5% daily line and a 10% trailing line. The third assumed their friend’s rules applied to their own account and
Trader Workstation has no webhook listener. There’s no URL you can paste into TradingView that TWS will ever answer directly, and that single fact is why more setup guides for this pairing get abandoned halfway through than for almost any other broker. Interactive Brokers built TWS around a local socket API, not an inbound HTTP
Every “no-code trading bot” post shows you a screenshot of a dashboard and tells you to trust it. If you’re the kind of trader who reads r/algotrading before buying a tool, that’s not proof of anything. This blog tells you about tradingview automation for prop firm accounts. So this one shows you the actual alertcondition()
The hard part was never the code. We timed a full no-code TradingView automation bot build with a stopwatch running, and the thing that ate the clock wasn’t wiring or JSON. It was deciding what the bot should do when reality stopped cooperating. Total elapsed: 72 minutes. Forty-one of those were construction. The other thirty-one
Writing the strategy was never the hard part. That’s the thing nobody tells you when you skip TradingView’s webhook and decide to build the whole automation stack in Python yourself. You already know pandas. You’ve written asyncio code that didn’t deadlock. Pine Script feels like a toy, and ccxt is right there, and the whole
There’s a whole genre of article on this platform now. Someone opens ChatGPT, describes a trading idea, gets Pine Script back, runs the Strategy Tester, and posts a screenshot of an equity curve going up and to the right. The comments fill with “does it still work?” Nobody answers, because the story always stops at
The first bot I ever paid for made money for eleven days. Then the market stopped doing the one thing the strategy was built around, and I discovered I couldn’t read the logic well enough to know whether to switch it off. I’d rented somebody else’s edge and had no way to audit it. That’s
I paid for a full month of a webhook relay before finding out it couldn’t see my account. The strategy was fine. The alerts fired. The tool was well built, fast, and exactly as advertised, and it still couldn’t place a single order for me, because the account I actually traded sat on a platform
